Accomodations will be available, but rates are impossible to tell. Since the area is a fishing and farming community, most likely accomodations will be rough, but affordable. The few pilots and agents spoken to will agree to a short wait before returning, but only if their stays are paid for. Room and board, though they are negotiable in price to a per diem basis. Once their per diem runs out though, they will start looking to negotiate a return trip with anyone.
Gerhard does not want to find himself in the middle of nowhere, without access to his or Tansy's funds, and with no way to get back. Part of the Trials was finding out what exactly your Trial was. Different Masters had differrent styles as I had learned studying the Histories of our organizaation. One particularly brutal Master had his Apprentices branded with instructions, on their backs, backwards. Another was much more lenient, but his Trials were consequently much harder. So much so he had less than a 50% survival rate for his Trials.
My Master was of the middle sort, so I shouldn't complain, but he only gave me a clue, written in a dead language I didn't know and told me not to speak to him until I was done. Now I could take that to mean, until I was done translating, but I knew that would earn me another three years of servitude under him. Not necessarily a bad thing, he was lenient with his apprentices. Indeed, he had several that were little more than servants, resigned to never copleting their Trials. I had ambition though.
After a short walk to the library, I began the tedious process of identifying the language before
